Former officer of Heidelberg Southern division John Knight dies

Former Heidelberg Southern division Printing in China
director John Knight has passed away with the age of 73.


He leaves wife Olwen Knight and three little children Charles, who functions at web printer York Mailing, Simone and Tracey.


Knight worked for Heidelberg from 1975 until retirement in Hardcover Book Printing
1994, initially as Southern division manager before investing his last two years with the company as Southern division director.

Gorth said: "In his work he was greatly respected and extremely good. His secret was that he knew his topic - printing and the Heidelberg mass media - and he loved people, both his customers Printing China
and the people who worked for him.


"But he was also rather competitive. You Hardback Printing
gave him a challenge and he would pick it up and operate with it. He and former sales director Dennis Durham formed a great and successful group until John retired to Spain."

director George Clarke added: "John knew his craft from your base up, having magazines printing
been a printing apprentice as well as a plate maker before switching to sales on the supplier side.


"He was old-school but creative while in the way he place deals together to enable printers to purchase a Heidelberg which they could otherwise not afford. Socially he was often handbags printing
